Man accused of shooting innocent bystander pleads not guilty on separate firearms charge


The man accused of shooting an innocent bystander outside a Burlington bar in February faced a judge in federal court Wednesday.

Rashad Nashid pleaded not guilty on a charge he was in possession of a firearm, as a felon.

This is tied to the incident near Nectar’s, February 26th, where a 26-year old woman was hurt.

In federal court Wednesday, the judge waived requirements for a speedy trial, as defense attorneys said they needed more time to get ready.

The judge gave them a deadline of June 29.

Currently, Nashid has a few felony convictions on his rap sheet out of New Jersey.Nashid has yet to be charged in last month’s shooting incident.
