The medical examiner’s report confirms a Vermont woman died last month, after being strangled.

The death certificate shows Alicia Harrington, 44, died within minutes from neck compression, assaulted by another person.

The manner of death was ruled a homicide.

Shawn LaPlant pleaded not guilty to second degree murder on March 15.

The Rutland City woman was first reported missing by her husband in early March.  Police found her body soon after, inside her car.

Court paperwork shows Harrington and LaPlant had a relationship.
