A Barre family is asking for your help, after someone destroyed a granite memorial bench on Tuesday.

The bench, located at the center of Currier Park in Barre was dedicated in honor of the late Alan Wilkins.
Wilkins nephew John Lyon and his family are expressing disappointment in the incident.
Wilkins told Local 22 News his uncle was a marine during the Vietnam war, and passed away in 2002 from leukemia.
Despite what has happened, Wilkins has seen an outpouring of support from his the Barre community.
“The emails and the comments that come out of this is really meaningful to us.”Said Wilkins. “It reminds you how great people really are that they are willing to spend their own money or resources. All the local granite sheds that have contacted us about helping replace it, that is really meaningful to us.”
Wilkins says, the bench will be replaced in the near future.
Wilkins asks if anyone has information or saw anything suspicious at Currier Park, to call Wilkins Harley-Davidson in Barre.
