Former South Burlington High School quarterback Jared Lebowitz led Middlebury College to a 30-27 victory in the season opener against Wesleyan.  Lebowitz threw for 352 yards and 3 touchdowns while throwing no interceptions.

Trailing 30-13 in the 4th quarter, Wesleyan scored a touchdown, recovered an onside kick, and scored again to get the game within 3 points late in the contest, but were unable to complete the comeback.  The Cardinals out-gained the Panthers 451-394 in total offense.
