Middlebury Police say a hiker reported finding a body in Middlebury Friday morning. The body was found on the TAM Trail, a popular hiking spot in Middlebury.
Police say the hiker found the body just before noon in the woods, between Court Street Extension and Seminary Street Extension.
Investigators went to the area and found human remains, according to a press release.
The crime scene unit, assistant state’s attorney, and assistant medical examiner are investigating.
No word yet on the deceased’s identity, age or cause of death.
The investigation is ongoing.
