More Red Cross Volunteers Leaving New York Saturday

The Red Cross is sending even more volunteers to help with the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.

One week after Harvey made landfall, the American Red Cross is working to help people affected by what’s being called the worst flooding disaster in U.S. history.  Volunteers from the Eastern New York Region are being deployed almost every day to support relief efforts.

So far, 33 volunteer have been deployed from the region.  Four more are expected to leave for either Texas or Louisiana on Saturday.

The Red Cross is also holding boot camps to train more volunteers.
