The 2016 Vermont International Film Festival is set to begin in Burlington Friday.

The event, running through October 30, showcases independent films both from Vermont and around the world.

Champlain College Professor Julia Swift is one of the festival programmers. Two of her students, Serena Gauthier and Anna Cuevas, were selected to screen a documentary they produced. The documentary, Don’t Touch the Camera, looks at issues of gender inequality in filmmaking.
