Natural Remedies for Winter Health

News

With the winter season upon us, now may be more important than ever to take extra care of our bodies. You have a great opportunity to learn some natural ways to do so at an upcoming working called, Herbal Remedies for Winter Vitality hosted by Burlington Permaculture.

The workshop is Monday, January 22 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm at Railyard Apothecary. It will be led by Marina Rubio and Elliot Cluba.

You’ll be taught how to create simple herbal teas to address a number of acute or chronic issues of the body, as well as tonify and maintain already strong biological functions, with an emphasis on using locally harvested, wild herbs and fungi.

You will also be taught how to make raw apple cider vinegar, and experiment with its many uses for cooking, body care and cleaning. You’ll also be taught how to make an immune-boosting tonic with anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, decongestant and circulation-boosting properties – the “fire” cider vinegar infusion. led by Marina Rubio and Elliot Cluba, will focus on creating simple herbal teas to address a number of acute or chronic issues of the body, as well as tonify and maintain already strong biological functions, with an emphasis on using locally harvested, wild herbs and fungi.

The workshop will include hands-on experience making vinegar that attendees can take home, and a big “fire cider” batch that will be donated in support of pipeline protesters or Hurricane Maria victims in Puerto Rico.

Your encouraged to bring a mug for sampling, and a big glass jar with a lid if you’d like to take home your own apple cider vinegar.
