A new development to ease the housing burden in Chittenden County.

Dozens of people braved the chilly December air to attend a ribbon cutting for the new Hillside at O’Brien Farm sub-division in South Burlington.

With a housing shortage in Chittenden County, this expansion will come from the current Stonington neighborhood.

30 acres of land will be developed into 118 housing units, including town homes, and single family homes.

“We have really designed these homes to really appeal to the young professionals, to families raising children, to the empty nesters, to the seniors that are down sizing.” Said Evan Langfeldt, President & CEO of O’Brien Brothers.

The first homes will be delivered to buyers as soon as early summer of 2018.

While there isn’t any designated affordable housing, Langfeldt says they are going to develop homes that are affordable.

Townhomes are expected to start in the mid 300’s with single families in the high 300’s.
