A South Carolina native was taken into custody by Lebanon police Wednesday in connection with an attempted robbery and car chase, according to Lebanon Police.
Michael Laws, 32, was arrested around 11:30 a.m. Thursday after officers were alerted about a suspicious man on Hanover Street, stated officials.
A media release said officers were able to identify Laws as the suspect from a robbery and pursuit on Wednesday night.
At about 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, Lebanon police joined the pursuit of a suspect in an Enfield robbery, authorities said.
According to police, the suspect abandoned their car on Laplante Road and escaped into the woods on foot.
Police searched into the early morning for the suspect with help from K9 units and air units, stated officials.
Police said the car Laws was driving was reported stolen, and a search of the vehicle found a replica handgun.
Laws will appear in court Friday on charges of attempted robbery, receiving stolen property, disobeying an officer, reckless driving and possession of drugs in a motor vehicle, according to authorities.
Laws also has a warrant from South Carolina for Criminal Sexual Conduct 1st degree, police said.
