Tuesday was an exciting election night in Clinton County New York.
Voters came out in droves to help elect a US Representative, a new mayor in Plattsburgh, a new 115th assembly member. But the race on everyone’s minds was the Presidential one.
“His comments during the debates, was, ‘I know ISIS better than the generals,’ he’s never been a military person at all,” said Frank J. Perkins, Hilliary Clinton supporter.
“I believe in the conservative party. I believe in the values. Start small, work hard, and if you’re hard working you can end up wherever you want to be,” said George DeJesus, Trump supporter.
A lot of election officials were very excited about Tuesday’s turnout a poll coordinator at the Clinton County government center, which covers a few precincts in Plattsburgh, were very impressed with turnout.
“Extraordinary. There’s a lot of people, there’s a constant steady of people coming in and out. Younger people, it seems like more, because normally during primaries you see older people that come in and whatnot. But this time around it seemed like a lot more college type students what showed up,” said Frank Agnew, poll coordinator.
A board of elections commissioner used one word to describe turnout today across the county: “amazing.”
