Planning on taking a ride on Amtrak this fall? Passengers heading to destinations across New York State, and outside the state to and from Montreal and Vermont can enjoy area snacks and craft beers on select Amtrak trains.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced on Monday that folks will be able to try area snacks and drinks because of a collaboration between Amtrak and Taste NY.
Taste NY was launched in 2013 to promote New York’s food and beverage service.
“New York companies produce some of the best food and beverages anywhere, and through the Taste NY program, these great products are getting more and more exposure across the state and around the globe,” Governor Cuomo said.
“This exciting new partnership means that the approximately 1 million people traveling on these Amtrak lines will be able to experience for themselves some of the best products New York has to offer,” added Cuomo.
The following routes will offer the Taste NY fare:
· Maple Leaf (63/64), with round-trip service between New York City – Niagara Falls – Toronto.
· Adirondack (68/69), with round-trip service between Montreal – Albany – New York City.
· Empire Service (280/281/283/284/288), with round-trip service between New York – Albany – Syracuse – Rochester – Buffalo – Niagara Falls.
