According to Vermont State Police, a portion of US Rt 2 in Grand Isle is back open following a two car crash Thursday evening.
The Grand Isle Fire Dept. says it expected crews to be on the scene of a two car crash until around 2 a.m. Friday. However, Vermont State Police were not able to reopen the road until 5:50 Friday morning. Vermont State Police said around 150 yards of Donaldson Road were closed.
Vermont Electric Co-op responded, because a power line was knocked down. One driver had to stay in the car because a wire was on it, but crews tell Local 22 & Local 44 there were no sparks or flames.
Both drivers are okay.
Lt. Ben Ingall with the Grand Isle Fire Department says they just want drivers to be careful.
“Just remember to go the speed limit, don’t tailgate and we can hopefully avoid incidents like this,” Ingall said.
No word yet on what caused the crash. Police are investigating.
