Pine trees turning orange

If you’ve driven down the interstate, you might have noticed some of the pine trees are turning orange.

Josh Halman, a Forest Health Specialist, says the white pine trees are extremely sensitive to the salt we put on the roadways during the winter.

The spray from the tires has built up on the trees and puts the pine needles in distress.

Halman says, the trees do typically recover and are not extensively damaged.
