A New York City based company is taking over a Plattsburgh based medical-marijuana dispensary.
The announcement was made by Curaleaf New York and Columbia Care Thursday.
The dispensary, located at 345 Cornelia Street, provides patients in Clinton, Franklin and Essex counties with access to pharmaceutical-quality products and counseling.
According to a media release, Columbia Care will open a new medical marijuana dispensary in downtown Brooklyn.
Michelle Bodner, president of PalliaTech NY, which will operate the dispensary under the name Curaleaf New York, says patients in the North County will continue to have access to treatments.
“We are excited to join the Plattsburgh community and look forward to providing a warm, comforting atmosphere for patients and helping those in Clinton and surrounding counties with our high-quality medical cannabis products,” said Bodner.
Columbia Care will transition its operations at the Cornelia Street dispensary on April 5, 2018, and Curaleaf will begin operating in the coming days to prevent any lapse in the availability of medical marijuana for North Country patients.
Both companies say they are working closely with the Department of Health and state officials to ensure continuity of operations and support for patients.
Curaleaf will says it will make many Columbia Care products available, including its recently introduced extended-release, pharmaceutical-quality medical marijuana tablets.
