Plattsburgh Women’s Hockey Returns with National Championship

Following a thrilling overtime victory in the national championship at Adrian College, the Plattsburgh women’s hockey team returned to the Champlain Valley with an NCAA Championship to show for it.

Senior goalie Camille Leonard remember the feeling as the visiting team, “Their crowd was absolutely insane.  You know, they were behind both nets and they were booing me the whole time and booing our team.  So I think it was just really special to win it in their barn and show ’em it doesn’t really matter where we play.”

Tournament MOP Erin Brand, who scored the championship-winning goal, adds, “It was incredible.  We had it here for the past three years, and it was really fun getting to go on a plane with all your friends and like Cami said, it was a different experience, it was awesome.”
