Burlington Police say a Colchester woman was charged with a DUI, leaving the scene of an accident and cruelty to children under 10 by one over 16 after she crashed her car on Thursday night.
Police say Rachel Oldinski, 35, of Colchester was heading southbound on North Avenue when she rear-ended the vehicle in front of her. According to police, Oldinski left the scene after the crash.
A media release says Oldinski was stopped by police near Institute Road. Police say she showed signs of impairment and was taken into custody to be processed for a DUI.
According to police, Oldinski’s BAC was almost twice the legal limit.
Authorities say Oldinski’s children ages 3 and 6 were in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Police say the children were not injured.
