Police investigate untimely death in Rutland

Rutland City police announced the department is investigating an untimely death.

Police say a woman was found dead in the industrial area near the railroad tracks.  Authorities have identified the woman, but are not releasing her name pending notification of family.

The Vermont State Police Crime Scene Search Team was called to help with the investigation.

Officials say they will be waiting on autopsy results from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Right now, police say there is no indication of foul play.
