Police: Lightning likely the Cause of South Hero House Fire

Investigators released new details on the house fire that happened in South Hero Tuesday night.

Police say lighting is likely the cause of the fire. 

Police say a lightning strike report showed there were 46 recorded strikes within 5 miles of the home, Tuesday evening.

Nearly 100 firefighters were called to 42 Sweeney Farm home.

There were no injuries, but 2 dogs and 3 cats died in the fire.

Police say the South Hero home was worth 1.7 million dollars.
