Police: Man Lured to St. Michael’s Campus

Four St. Michael’s college students are due in court this week to answer to assault charges.

According to a press release from Colchester Police, Megan Benson, 20, of Madison, CT, Tyler Malone, 20, of Howell, NJ, Daniel Barry, 21, of Dover, MA, and Zachary Szczechowicz, 21, of Epping, NH are accused of luring a man onto campus to assault him, that’s when police say Amrou Mohamed, 21, of South Burlington pulled out a gun.

Investigators say the incident happened last month, the students had promised to sell the Mohamed marijuana if he came to campus.  

Officials say instead the students had plans to assault him for allegedly stealing from one of them.

According to the press release, the students are being charged with unlawful restraint, assault, and providing false information to an officer.  They are scheduled to appear in court on November 3.

Police say Mohamed is being charged with violating conditions of his release.
