Police: Vermont Man Shoots Dog, Charged With Cruelty to an Animal

A Vermont man is cited to appear in court after shooting a dog, according to Vermont State Police.

Police said an investigation found Michael Roberts, 57, shot a dog on Sand Road around noon Thursday.

Roberts is cited to appear in Addison District Court Criminal Division Sept. 18 on the charge of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals, stated authorities.

The dog is being treated for its injuries, said officials.
