Police want to speak to driver in car vs. pedestrian crash

SHLEBURNE, Vt. - Shelburne Police are attempting to identify the driver involved in a crash with a pedestrian Thursday afternoon.

Police say around 3:30 pm, two young girls were crossing Falls Road near the Shelburne Country Store store when one of them was struck by a car traveling southbound.

A media release states one girl fell onto the pavement.

Police say the male driver stopped to check on the girl but did not identify himself, and may not have realized she was injured.

As part of its investigation into the crash, police would like to speak with the driver involved.

The driver is described as a having a smaller build, at least 50 years of age, with white or gray hair.

He was driving a silver or white convertible with a black top, possibly a BMW.

The 12 year-old girl was treated by Shelburne Rescue for unspecified injuries and released to her mother.

The driver, or anyone else with any information regarding this crash, is asked to contact the Shelburne Police Department at 802-985-8051.
