Starting Monday morning, June 19, route 7/2 in Colchester will be closed for seven weeks to lower the grade of the hill be 5 and a half feet. Just north of Bay Road/Route 127 intersection and south of the intersection of Route 7/2 and Route 2A will be affected through early August.
It’s part of the Routes 7/2, 2A, 127 Intersection Improvement Project.
Safety improvements include new traffic signals at the Route 7/2 intersection with Bay Road and Creek Farm Road. A path will also be built for pedestrians and cyclists.
Drivers should expect delays throughout the week, and should seek alternate routes if possible. Businesses will remain open at all times.
