Organizers of Tuesday’s Gift of Life’ blood drive in Rutland received some help from two girls, calling on people to donate in their father’s memory.
Taylor and Lilly Krupp are continuing his advocacy for Gift of Life. Their dad, John suffered a condition for many years where a minor injury could turn into a significant need for blood. Before John’s death in 2014, he was a Gift of Life volunteer. Now his twin girls are picking up where he left off, calling on you to donate.
In the Krupp house, Gift of Life is also referred to as the ‘Gift of Time’.
“Giving up your time to give the blood and then also giving people more time so it sort of is an exchange of time, giving them time to live and giving your time to the community and giving back,” explained Taylor and Lilly Krupp.
Tuesday’s Gift of Life Summer Mini Marathon will be held from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the College of St. Joseph in Rutland.
