A St. Albans man has been cited for drug possession after police found him with a hypodermic needle in his lap, while idling his car in a parking garage.
Police say this happened close to 2:00 a.m. on March 15 in the garage on South Main Street.
The sole male occupant of the vehicle was identified as Steven A Gaboury,49, of St. Albans.
Police say the registration plates on the vehicle Gaboury was operating were not assigned to the vehicle, and he currently has a restricted operator’s license requiring an ignition interlock device.
Officers reported the vehicle Gaboury was driving was not equipped with such a device.
He was subsequently issued a citation to appear in court for the interlock violation.
Police seized Gadboury’s vehicle, and a search warrant was obtained later that day.
During the search, police located just over a gram of cocaine and drug paraphernalia (hypodermic needles, cotton swabs and metal spoon).
Gaboury was processed and given a court citation charging him with Possession of Cocaine.
He is scheduled to appear on April 16, 2018.
