Scott: President Trump’s comments are dividing the country

WOODSTOCK, Vt.- Vermont Governor Phil Scott says he’s frustrated over President Donald Trump’s recent comments about congressional members of color.

On Saturday, the President tweeted about the City of Baltimore, saying it was infested with rodents. Trump blamed longtime congressman Elijah Cummings. Democrats call it another racist attack by the President.

Although a republican, Scott has been critical of Trump from the beginning.

“It seeks to divide us. It’s more rhetoric. It’s rhetoric that might be good for someones campaign strategy but its not great for the country,” he said during a press conference in Woodstock Tuesay.

“What we need to do is work together and unify because we’ve got a great economy right now,” he said.

Scott also condemned the President’s comments he made two weeks ago, demanding four female members of congress to “go back” to their countries.
