A magnitude 2.7 earthquake rocked areas near Malone, N.Y.

The quake, which happened just before midnight, Tuesday night, was just over three miles below the surface, according the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

The epicenter of the earthquake occurred near Dickinson, N.Y. or just south of Moria, N.Y.
 
USGS received reports of shaking from Montreal, Quebec to as far south as Syracuse, N.Y.
