Burlington’s Deputy Police Chief will get a promotion, close to home.
The City of South Burlington announced it’s reached a tentative agreement with Shawn Burke to be the next chief.
Burke is a 21-year veteran in the Queen City.
South Burlington City Manager Kevin Dorn said Burke has the exact profile we were looking for in a chief.
Pending an extensive background check Burke will start work in August.
He’ll take over for Chief Trevor Whipple who is retiring next January.
