New details have been released about the terms for teacher contracts in South Burlington.
A media release states that the school board ratified the agreement on Friday morning.
“We are pleased that we have been able to negotiate an agreement that we believe reflects the needs of all stakeholders, including teachers, children, families, and taxpayers,” said Martin LaLonde, Clerk of the School Board.
Key points in the negotiation were that salaries will go up 2.17% in 2018. Documents state the district’s healthcare is being replaced by four new plans that were developed by the Vermont Education Healthcare Initiative.
The ratification comes after 11 months negotiations and a 10-hour mediation session to avoid a strike. You can see the agreement below.
