St. Albans launched their first ever Sunflower Festival on Friday. The whole event came about when farmer Scott Magnan decided to randomly plant a field of sunflowers. After a few facebook photos, people from across the state came to see the sunflowers.
Scott Magnan joined with the city and town of St. Albans and the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce to create the Sunflower Festival.
You can visit the sunflowers at the industrial park or on Georgia Shore Road.
There will be live music, food, and craft beer at the industrial park field.
” It brings people out into a farmers field where not many people have often gone. So, it’s a nice way of connecting the community on something that’s just a little different,” said organizer, Lisamarie Charlesworth.
