St. Albans Police: Man Accused of Committing Fraud in Vermont and New York

St. Albans Police say a man from Canada was arrested at the border in Highgate for allegedly committing fraud at a bank in St. Albans. 

Police say Alexandru Florea, 26, is suspected of fraudulent bank transaction at the TD Bank on North Main Street.

According to police, Florea is wanted in New York State for allegedly committing over $100,000 in similar frauds.   

A media release says, Florea is being held at Northwest Correctional Center on $20,000.00 bail.  Flore was scheduled to appear at Vermont Superior Court in Franklin County on Monday.  Police say Florea will be extradited to New York to answer to the charges of grand larceny.
