Star Wars characters make 5-year-old’s wish come true

News

For sick kids, Make-A-Wish provides a reprieve from the stresses that their illness brings every day. And today it was Spencer Labonte’s turn to have his wish come true.

Star Wars characters Kylo Ren, Rey and a stormtrooper along with the staff from Make-A-Wish arrived at Macy’s today to tell the five year old from Colchester that he and his family would be traveling to Disney World in January.

Spencer was diagnosed with leukemia about a year and a half ago.

Spencer’s mom says the family is looking forward to the time spent together. “This will be a time that will be just about us and we won’t have to worry about being in the hospital we don’t have to worry about all the things that go on here he gets a break from everything and it’s going to be so much fun he’s going to forget he’s even sick,” said Nicole Labonte.

Spencer says that he’s most excited to meet his favorite character in Disney World: Darth Vader!
