STD’s on the Rise in New York

Sexually transmitted disease (STD) rates across the country are going up for the third year in a row according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

New York ranked highest in our region for reported cases of syphilis at 5th out of the 50 states in 2016 with 2,455 reported cases.
Vermont ranked 37th with 23 cases.

New Hampshire was 44th with 40 cases.

As for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea, New Hampshire and Vermont came in at the bottom end for reported cases.

New York on the other hand ranked within the top 25 for rates of both of these STD’s with 29,000 cases of gonorrhea and 109,433 cases of Chlamydia.
