The State of Vermont will begin assessing damage caused by severe storms on May 4, Thursday.
Specifically, Chittenden, Grand Isle, Lamoille, Orange, Orleans and Washington counties.
Utilities will be assessed also.
This will help determine whether the state qualifies for a federal disaster declaration.
Early estimates show Vermont will exceed the one-million dollar threshold needed for the president to possibly approve the request.
