The Central Vermont Youth Action Alliance, a Montpelier student group, is calling for adults and other young people to join them in a walkout and march to demand an end to the use of fossil fuels.
Millions worldwide are expected to walk out of workplaces, schools, and homes on Sept. 20 as part of a global youth climate strike to raise awareness and request fast, sustainable solutions.
The Montpelier event begins with a pre-march rally at 9 a.m. in the front field of Montpelier High School. The march to Montpelier City Hall begins at 9:30 a.m.
Strikers will rally at Montpelier City Hall at 10 a.m. with speakers and music.
