The end of the Burlington teachers strike means kids are back in school.
Students missed a total of four days due to the teachers strike. Most parents were happy to get back to a normal schedule. However, kids had a mixed review.
Ariah Mongan said, “I really love school and it really rocks.”
Another student, Gabe Torre, when asked if he was excited about being back took a long pause. He then said, “I don’t know.”
Cameron Macomber is a fifth grader and was easily the most excited. He threw his hands in the air.
“My hands are in the air like I just don’t care,” he said. “This is so awesome.”
Kids had another reason to be excited today. The elementary and middle schools had early release. According to the School District, every Wednesday in Burlington is an early release day.
