Democratic candidate for Governor in Vermont, Sue Minter, will debate alone at the Tunbridge Fair debate Thursday.
Her rival, Phil Scott, says he won’t participate because WDEV, the host of the event, only invited major party candidates. His campaign spokesperson says Scott has criteria for debates, including all candidates running for the seat be invited, if he is going to participate.
There will be a literal empty chair to mark where Scott would have been. The debate format dictates moderator Mike Smith will ask questions to the empty chair.
The debate is Thursday morning from 9:05 to 10 at the Tunbridge Fair gazebo.
