SUNY Plattsburgh Student Move-In Set for this Weekend

This Saturday marks the unofficial start of the new academic year at SUNY Plattsburgh.  Families will get their kids moved back onto campus this weekend.

SUNY Plattsburgh has 53 hundred undergrad students enrolled for the Fall semester.  That includes a freshmen class of about one thousand.  Residence halls open at 8:00 AM Saturday.  And Rugar Street will be down to one lane for the move-in weekend.

Staff says they’re ready to go!  “All our divisions are having kick off meetings, student affairs had our kick off meeting yesterday, departments are having their kick off meetings.  Tomorrow morning the President welcomes the entire staff and faculty at a great event, then other academic divisions have their kick off meetings tomorrow, so we’re ready,” said Vice President of Student Affairs Bryan Hartman.

The weekend will also feature picnic lunches, a comedian will hit the stage, and new students will gather for the Matriculation Ceremony.
