Trailer truck unit split in half

Just after 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, a 48- foot trailer truck sunk down to the pavement causing a major traffic delay on Route 2A and Marshall Ave.

Two men were driving the motor vehicle but were not injured.

The truck which is owned by R.R Charlebois was carrying traffic cones, signs and other miscellaneous items when the incident happened.

A wrecker service was dispatched to the scene to help assist.

Once the dismantled trailer was placed in safe condition, a DMV inspector conducted a T-T unit inspection.

Vermont State Police, The Department of Motor Vehicles, Williston Fire Department and Williston Police Department teamed up at the scene.

“We were pleased that there was no hazardous materials or any contents that we would have to worry about. This for us was strictly a traffic control issue and the folks from the company that owns the tractor-trailer are doing a really efficient job in getting that traffic moving quickly,” said Senior Firefighter, Prescott Nadeau.

The trailer truck unit is currently out of service and the carrier has issued a ticket.
