Vermont Cares held free H-I-V testing for National Testing Day

Today is National H-I-V Testing Day. To spread awareness, Vermont Cares held free H-I-V tests on Church Street this afternoon.

Vermont Cares held the tests out of their mobile prevention van, hoping the set-up brought awareness to Vermonters.

“Vermont is really lucky to have a strong network of HIV testing centers all across the state. Getting tested takes 20 minutes, it’s free, it’s confidential, and there’s no reason someone shouldn’t get tested,” said Peter Jacobsen, Executive Director of Vermont Cares.

The Vermont Cares in Burlington offers walk-in tests, while the Rutland, Montpelier and St. Johnsbury locations are by appointment.
