The Vermont Chamber Business Expo brought thousands of job seekers and employers under one roof.

The business trade show featured more than 150 businesses and services from tech to finance.

The goal is to help Vermonters secure jobs and for businesses to sell their services and recruit skilled workers.

The Labor Department just announced the seasonally-adjusted statewide employment rate for April is at 3.1 percent.

“When you’re at that low of an unemployment rate, it becomes a difficult pool to hire and there’s not a lot of choice for the employer, which makes it an employee market,” says Vermont Chamber of Commerce President, Betsy Bishop.

The Vermont Chamber of Commerce says it’s seen a lot of growth and interest in the tech sector, especially in Chittenden County.
