BURLINGTON, V.t.
Record breaking mild temperatures for the first of February might having you itching to hit the bike path or trails.
Team registration is open for the annual Vermont City Marathon.
What makes this year a bit different are tickets are being sold on a first come first serve basis, and not by the traditional lottery method.
Jess Cover with RunVermont says “We sold over half the teams in the first hour (sales started at 6am 2/1/16), and each hour after that it has been nice and steady. People are realizing that we are probably going to close out today. If they want a team and want to run with us they are going to have to get on it…”
The Vermont City Marathon is a U-S-A-T-F certified course. That means if you finish within the certain requirements, you can qualify to run the Boston Marathon.
It starts at 8am on May 29th at Battery Park.
