The law license of a Vermont state’s attorney in Washington County is inactive while he’s out on medical leave.

The Vermont Supreme Court issued an order Monday putting Scott Williams’ license on inactive status, according to court paperwork.

The decision comes at the request of the state’s Disciplinary Counsel, and Williams.

In November, Williams was slated to testify during the sentencing of Jody Herring, but was excused for undisclosed medical reasons.

According to court paperwork, Williams may apply for reinstatement every two weeks.
