Vermont State Police say 16 people were busted in a Windsor County drug investigation on May 8.
According to police, the Vermont Drug Task Force with the Springfield Police Department, the Vermont State Police Westminster Barracks, the Chester Police Department, and the Department of Homeland Security worked together in an investigation that into the sale of heroin and cocaine in the Springfield, Vermont region.
Police say the focus of the investigation was at a residence at 33 Union Street in Springfield, undercover investigators were able to buy heroin many times from the owner of the home. A search warrant also found cocaine and drug paraphernalia at the home.
Officials say, Danielle Garceau, 37, the owner of the home was arrested for selling drugs and for selling drugs near a school since the residence was near an elementary school. Police say the residence also had many health violations.
Police say 17 other suspects were either arrested or have search warrants on them in relation to the investigation. You can read about what the suspects were charged with at the end of this article.
According to police, a community forum about drug use and prevention will be held by Vermont State Police and Springfield Police at future date.
