Vermont State Police: Human remains found inside Townshend log cabin damaged by fire


Vermont State Police say human remains were found inside a log cabin that caught fire Friday morning.

The identities of these two individuals has not been confirmed at this time, and the remains have been transported to the OCME in Burlington for autopsy.

Police say the fire happened at 183 Shirley Circle; investigators say the home was supposed to be unoccupied and was heavily damaged.

At this time, the cause of the fire has not been determined, and the investigation remains active.
