Vermont State Police investigating theft from Lake Champlain Ferry

Vermont State Police are investigating a theft from the Lake Champlain Ferry.

Police received a report someone stole money from the cash drawer on the ferry while traveling from Charlotte, Vermont to Essex, New York.

Vermont State Police say was the cash register in the lounge on the ferry, and was left unattended for a short period of time.

Police say during that time, between 3:00 and 3:30 p.m. it is believed a passenger accessed it and stole an undisclosed amount of cash.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the Vermont State Police, Williston Barracks.
