Vermont State Police responded to the Springfield Hospital for a report of an assault, and the theft of a car in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Police say the two alleged victims described being attacked physically and reported their car as stolen.
After an investigation, the pair admitted they were lying about the assault and the stolen car.
Police say both reported they had been drinking and driving and they crashed causing their minor injuries.
Police later located the car, crashed on RT 103 in Rockingham.
Jenny G. Kawesch-Kennedy 23, of Protorsville, VT. and Jared A. Danowski-Harlow 23, of Belmont, VT. were arrested for DUI and false info to the police.
The two were arrested and processed at the Springfield Police Department and released to a responsible adult.
They are both set to appear in Vermont Superior Court Windham Criminal Division on April 24, 2018 at 8:00 a.m.
