Spring cleaning is in the air in the Queen City

Hundreds of students and residents and were able unload and swap out unwanted, but still usable items for the 17th Annual Spring Move Out Project.

Students turned in clothing, books, furniture and other items along Buell and Loomis Street.

The popular street swap encourages reusing items as student move in and out of housing.

“We want to keep the green belts clean and free of items because it’s illegal to dispose of on the green belt and we know there are a lot of good items, furniture, clothing, food, books that people could use otherwise,” says Christina Erickson, Director for Champlain College Center for Service & Sustainability.

Items that were not picked up Tuesday will go to ReSource, Goodwill, the food shelf and other local charities.
