Vermonters in eight towns to gather for National Night Out

Across the country tonight, communities will be coming together for National Night Out this evening.

National Night Out is an annual campaign with the purpose of bringing together law enforcement and the communities they serve. The hope is that by strengthening that relationship, the community becomes safer.

According to the campaign’s official website, thousands of communities from all fifty states, U.S. territories and military bases take part in the movement.

In Vermont, eight communities have officially pledged to participate, including Brattleboro, Hartford, Manchester, Milton, Swanton Village, West Rutland, Williston, and Windsor.

New Hampshire has 33 cities, and New York State has 119 participating. you can find out if your local community is taking part here.
