RICHFORD, Vt.- The Northern Forest Canoe Trail is 740 miles long, to enjoy it all it could take weeks but a few summer events allow you to have some fun along a smaller portion. The Richford River Fest is on June 27 and the community will be celebrating in Davis Park but the Northern Forest Canoe Trail is hosting a Paddle-Pedal Race during the festival. The race combines 6.5 miles of flat water paddling on the Missisquoi River and 4.5 miles of cycling back on the adjacent Missisquoi Valley Rail Trail.

It’s family friendly and canoes, kayaks and paddleboards are welcome. Registration is on the Northern Forest Canoe Trails website. They also have other events which allow you to get on the water including some specifically for the kids. That information can also be found on their website.

To learn more about the Missisquoi River and see all of the events along the river you can visit their website.
